Beta Test Program

KeyJ 1.1

Help shape the next version of KeyJ before it ships.

About the Beta

KeyJ 1.1 is currently in beta testing. As a beta tester, you get early access to new features and help us catch bugs before the public release. Your feedback directly shapes the final product.

iOS and macOS beta testing is managed through Apple TestFlight. Android beta testing is available through Google Play. Both are free to join.

What's New in 1.1

  • Live Session. One device broadcasts the active key to any number of followers in real time. Great for rehearsals, jam sessions, and teaching.
  • Extended Scale Library. Phrygian, Lydian, Mixolydian, Locrian, Harmonic Minor, and Melodic Minor modes are now available as premium scales alongside the free set.
  • Instrument Mode. View the current key mapped onto a piano keyboard, guitar fretboard, or bass fretboard, updating in real time as you navigate keys and scales.
  • Semitone Calculator. Quickly find the interval between any two keys, check capo positions, and look up enharmonic equivalents without doing mental arithmetic.
  • Nashville Numbering. Display scale degrees as Nashville Numbers (1-7) alongside Roman Numeral Analysis, the shorthand used in professional session playing.
  • Screen Lock Disable. Keep your device display on during a performance or teaching session without manually adjusting screen timeout settings.
  • Premium Themes. Classical, Cute, and Disco themes join the free Light, Dark, and Midnight options.
  • Yearly Premium Subscription. KeyJ Premium is now a yearly subscription, giving you ongoing access to all premium features including advanced scales, premium themes, screen lock disabling, Nashville Numbering, and Live Session leading. As a Beta Tester, you can enjoy all of these features for free.
